While this may not be the great American novel, I don't think that's what it was intended as. What it is is a well written and thought out tale of two people who meet and share dreams for a better, more fulfilling life. They find out that not all dreams are what they're cracked up to be. An Imperfect Dream is perfect to read at the pool, in the backyard, or anywhere else this summer. The average reader can relate to the characters, and their aspirations. Not to mention that you'll never guess what's in store for them. This novella keeps you guessing, just when you think you can see what's coming, O'Leary surprises you with another twist that will leave you thinking. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for something thought provoking to read. And at the price, you'd be crazy not to check it out!Product details

While I did not have incredible expectations for this book, it was still a disappointment. I felt like I was reading something written by a 6th grader. The only good thing was that it was a very quick read - under an hour.
A very enjoyable book and an easy read. The author keeps the pace steady and the reader interested. He skillfully illustrates the importance of community and shared values in the characters lives and the lengths they will go to in order to keep peacful that which is held dear by all.
