Each creature is fully detailed, with background information, adventure hooks, game stats, and variants. This beautiful full-color hardback is the first sourcebook for the Fantasy AGE RPG and an indispensable resource for Game Masters.

Here's what I love about this book:The art is gorgeous. The cover is easily distinct from the Core rulebook (It's a GM thing, having to flip through multiple books during play).
It has the typical Minotaurs, Elementals, Griffons, and the like. With a huge number that are "irregular" (Penanggalan, morlocks, man-o-war, grootslang, craterling, and zenadrim among my favorites).
It also contains beasts that populate the world. Cool thing about this is that they are threats of almost all ranges (although the highest threat is only one Major, the Giant Squid).
Each creature also gets at least 2 pages with information about them (the notable exception being demons, as they are broken off into sub-creatures).
Each of the creatures includes Adventure hooks to jumpstart your imagination into either short or long campaigns.
The Modifying Monsters section is 35 different qualities (note: some are reprints from the core rulebook for convenience).
It also gives examples of how to create templates (several special qualities added to creatures). I could certainly see this put to use in almost all of my campaigns, such as a Corrupted Druid affecting the creatures of it's woods by giving them Shadow, Fae, Feral, and one other to give variety to their attacks.
If you were wanting a more sci-fi feel for Fantasy AGE, I would recommend the Titansgrave Book (or watch the youtube series from Geek & Sundry) and smaller bits such as reskinning the Clockwork special quality into Construct, etc.
If I had to give a negative to this book, it would be that there isn't a list of creatures by Adversary Threat Rating. It's a minor complaint at best.
I would say this a Must Buy for fans of this RPG system.
EDIT: I didn't really give it any thought until now. This book is a hardback, not paperback.

Best bestiary I have come across love the mechanic on beefing up the encounters. Must have for fantasy age. 10 out of 10 must have
This is such a simple, elegant system. I love how approachable and flexible it is.
A great expansion of monsters for Fantasy Age or Dragon Age if you tinker a bit with the stats. Excellent artwork too.
It is a nice supplement for a nice system. It has some nice adventure seeds in addition to stats and powers for enemies. It has everything you need to run a monster on one page, no need to cross reference between three books.
