The School of Revenge eBook Michael Richan
Aaron and Phillip are your typical high school unknowns trying to survive the upper class football stars terrorizing them on a daily basis. Each day they go to lunch or football pre-tryouts, they know that their life is going to be hell. How much can one person take? Aaron and Phillip have been best friends for years, after school they hang out at Aaron’s, play video games for an hour before they start homework. Late one evening after a majorly tough day – this crumpled up flyer with sand in it flies through Aaron’s window. It offers a way to defeat the bullies and come out on top, it offers revenge. All he has to do is show up at the old library. The next day he tells Phillip all about it, and they cannot wait to be a part of the School of Revenge! Too bad, they did not think about the consequences. It does not take long for the boys to soak up the adrenaline that is all around them at the school. By their second visit, they become witness to what can happen to the jerks that have made their life a living hell. All they need do is take a pledge, get a small “mark” on their arm, and deliver flyers to other people. When this all happens, now it is their bullies up on stage being dealt with. Funny thing, the day after their bully is up on stage, they don’t appear to be affected. But it does not take long for the revenge to sink in and make the bullies suffer. Nor does it take long for Aaron to realize that it has all gone too far, and now he feels trapped. Trying to break away, he is visited while in bed by a very large and very creepy arthropod that explains extremely careful that the next visit would endanger the life of his mother. The only person he can turn to is his piano instructor. (didn't see that coming, did you?)
This is Michael Richan’s 20th book, geared directly to the YA genre. It is also his first book that is not an off shoot of his incredible paranormal “River Series”. This is story is fresh and captivating. It makes me think of my younger days being picked on for being a nerd with glasses who always had their nose in a book. I am here to tell you that this is a creepy book! Not any soft and cuddly creatures here. Several characters in this book are not what they appear to be, at all. It does not matter if you are the bully or the one being bullied yourself. The School of Revenge is packed with more kinds of revenge than you can think of. I have already decided to send this to my 13 and 16 yr old nieces as an escape from their homework.

The School of Revenge eBook Michael Richan Reviews
Young adult horror tale. Not the author's best. It never explains how the monsters actually find and kill the enemies of the students.
Thank you so much for this read. and I loved the oblique reference to an element in the River series.
I think this book is okay, compared to his others. It started out quite slow and took me awhile to want to keep me coming back to it. However, towards a little past the middle I finally got caught up in it and from then on I really liked it, still not as good as the others but I can see where this one is heading, so I will be looking forward to the next one.
Another winner by Mr Richan.
Being one of the kids who was bullied I can sympathize with Aaron and Phillip. I can even admit to the same kind of fantasies about my (many) tormentors.
That being said things went a bit too far for me. The punishments did not fit the crimes.
I loved the tie-in, the evil Archner Group. I foresee a big crossover, mash-up waiting in the wings.
I have read all of Michael Richan's River series books. I can't get them quick enough. I have two 15 year old granddaughters so I read this book to be sure it was appropriate reading for them. I wasn't disappointed. There were only minor words in the very beginning of the book but not too bad. I think they would enjoy this book. It was fast paced and just creepy enough not to give them nightmares.
I bought this one but put off reading it for a while, since I knew it was different than other books by Michael Richan. I am very glad I decided to read it. As usual, it was a very engaging story with almost no connection to the other series'. It stands well on its own, but I do hope there is a sequel at some point.
Aaron has been bullied enough as a new freshman but now he has a chance to make sure hes never bullied again. A secret meeting is held in the old abandoned library that allows him to learn all about revenge... But at what cost? The teachers of revenge may not even be human and for Aaron it may be too late to get out of this secret organization... Age 15 just got tougher...
Great story and very unique!!!
